Solemn worship took place in the St. John church on the feast of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary in the third week of Lent, the Adoration of the Precious Cross and the day of decease of St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow.

Bishop Tikhon Vasilkovsky served with father Alexander (Veberov) and deacon Sergey, the church was crowded with parishioners, the service took place with special reverence, it is understandable – two great feasts of Annunciation and the Adoration of the Cross came together that day.

The name of the holiday - the Annunciation – conveys its main meaning: proclamation of the good news by Archangel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary about conception and birth of the Infant Christ.

At Matins, after the Great Doxology carrying of the Cross and worship was held. The church adores the Holy Cross and the fruit of the Savior's Death on the Cross.

Carrying and worship to the Cross in the Adoration of the Precious Cross is done in order to strengthen the faithful in passing difficult course of the Lent by the Cross view and a reminder of the suffering of the Savior.

At the end of the service parishioners warmly congratulated Bishop Tikhon with the Day of the Patron Saint, Master is christened in honor of St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow.

The parishioners wished Master Tikhon “Many Years”, and that he serves the Lord and give guidance to the flock for a long time.
